April 24, 2026 - The Miller Art Museum is pleased to announce that its beloved Art & Treasures Fundraiser will return for its 21st year, opening to the public on Saturday, May 30, 2026 and running through Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the museum, located at 107 S. 4th Avenue in downtown Sturgeon Bay.

Art Treasures AD rev 6.5 x 2.5 in

The museum is now accepting tax-deductible donations from the community in advance of the sale. This year brings a welcome change for one of the museum's signature traditions. After two decades as a late-summer event, Art & Treasures will move to early June, positioning the sale at the beginning of the summer season. The new dates offer collectors and patrons a first look at this year’s unique selection of art, vintage finds, and curiosities, while setting the stage for an ambitious summer of exhibitions ahead. While this year’s dates are new, the character of the event is not—Art & Treasures has been a tradition of the museum for more than two decades, and 2026 will be no exception. Since its founding in 2005, the event has brought together art lovers, collectors, and treasure seekers around a thoughtfully curated assortment of donated goods—original fine art and reproductions by Door County and regional artists, art books, ceramics, sculpture, pottery, vintage collectibles, quality frames, household décor, textiles, jewelry, art supplies, and an ever-evolving array of unique curiosities and unexpected finds. Every item is donated, and every dollar raised directly supports the museum's programming.

"Art & Treasures has always been sustained by the generosity of our community," said Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead, Executive Director. "Year after year, people contribute such thoughtful, high-quality items, and that generosity is what makes the event so special each year. Every donation and every purchase helps ensure that the museum can continue to offer dynamic programming for the Peninsula."

The fundraiser comes at a moment of creative momentum for the museum. With the transition and welcoming of Suzanne Rose as Curator of Exhibitions and Collections in recent months, the museum has channeled fresh curatorial energy into an ambitious 2026 schedule that includes more than 15 exhibitions across the year—from the current Abraham Cohn | Maker's Mark, celebrating a foundational figure in Door County's craft community, to this summer's career retrospective of artist Bill Reid, the debut of the new monthly 12x12 Project solo series beginning in June with Sturgeon Bay painter Adam Fulwiler, and a momentous fall presentation reuniting the artists in residence from the first five years of Dome House Al & Mickey Quinlan Artist Residency program. Proceeds generated from the Art & Treasures fundraiser go directly toward sustaining this programming.
